I think i'm probably going to get this phone. Is there a thread (like the Vodacom Monthly deals thread) for MTN around here somewhere? Is it still R349 per month ,250mb 25 free sms on top up 200?
 
I still can't understand these deep discounts.

I think I would take the discount for not having a white one.

Its never a good idea to buy cash. Always get a phone on contract even if you don't need the contract. Then just don't use the Sim.

Remember networks aren't interested in making money of phone sales, they have a much more lucrative revenue stream if they can convince you to lock yourself in for 24 months. In addition, subscribers are unlikely to move across service providers, so networks push hard to get you signed up with them.

The subsidized price of the handset is off the bulk cost price of the phone, not the retail price, and they make up that difference and more on the contract profits of the entire pool.

If filling stations made the same return on petrol they'd also give away cars (if they could lock you in).

This might change in future as revenues drop. US carriers are already hinting at moving away from carrier subsidized handsets. Even though in the US handsets are network locked, so the return on the handset subsidy is better guaranteed.

White was my first choice too, but the Grey grows on you. I've had mine since launch and loving it.
In different light, the shade of Grey changes and looks good.
I have ordered a black barely there case mate, so the back wil be covered anyway :)

Im certain the White will be available soon, but decided not to wait and don't regret it.
 
just got mine five minutes ago. waiting for it to charge. where did you get the case?
 
MTN corporate. black unfortunately. really wanted a white.

did anyone watch american idol last week. They had HTC One X with cool docks. Anyone know the name.
