Last night I went out drinking, and while on the phone, it died. Battery empty. This has been happening a lot lately, the phone says the battery is still 60%, and I make a call and it dies. Switch it on again, it's on 20%. Press any button to make the backlight light up, the phone goes off. Granted, it's almost two years old. Now last night when I got home, I plugged in into the charger, and noticed that the orange LED indicating that it is charging, is not even lit. So now I cannot use the phone. Would this be a sign of a bad battery, or is the phone ****ed?

To me that sounds like the battery, but I think wait for more opinions.

Also, do you maybe have a multimeter to test the charger? Maybe that is dead

I have tried a different charger, as well as USB via the computer. The LED does not even light up :(

Come to think of it... some phones will actually operate without the battery when on charge, well my phone does. I'll do some research :)

People on other forums suggesting the following:

1) Remove battery
2) Plug in charger, wait for orange/red light to start flashing
3) Re-insert battery.
4) Wait for battery to charge.

But as you say there are no lights flashing even without the battery? Then it seems like the phone to me. But once again, my opinion :) Maybe HTC_Guy can help you?
