Hi does anyone have an HTC S740 there has not been much said about this phone since it was released in SA.Have a few questions about it as I'm stuck between the Touch Diamond and S740. I havent had the chance to play with S740 but i was amazed by the Touch Diamond.:D

1.Does it lag when opening and closing applications or programs?
2.Read several reviews none of them mention anything about placing a wallpaper on the home screen,is this possible?
3.The screen resoloution?(Diamonds was simply brilliant the best I,ve seen)
4.The GPS signal strength?

Thanks any comments that come to mind will be very helpful:)

they both lag and arent really worth it in my opinion.

If you deadset on a windows mobile phone you are far better off with the Samsung i900 Omnia, it has a faster cpu and ALOT more space. also the screen is nice and big and it has a far better camera. it is also a favorite and as such recieves alot of attention, which means there will be plenty of updates and bug fixes.

Major differences

omnia :

CPU - 624MHz Marvell PXA312 processor
MEMORY - 8 GB/16 GB internal memory
Camera - 5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, autofocus, image stabiliser, video, flash; secondary videocall camera.

Htc diamond touch :

CPU - Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 Mhz processor.
MEMORY - 4 GB user available memory
Camera - 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, autofocus, video(CIF@30fps); secondary VGA videocall camera.

s740 :

CPU - Qualcomm MSM7225, 528MHz processor
Camera - 3.2 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, video.

Windows Mobile is a no-go. IMO
Rather get a symbian O/S.
Have you had a look @ battery life. I struggle to get 2 days out of my Touch Diamond. And I do not fool around much.

BUT... The Touch Diamond is a really great phone. Touchscreen very good and screen resolution is amazing. Once you get used to the Touch Flo 3D you wont want anything else.
Just a pity that the memory is not expandable. You are stuck with the 4Gb internal. Rather have a look at the Touch Pro featuring extra card slot for more memory.
