Since friday my HTC Sensation refuses to create a hotspot? you click the tick and it thinks for a second and then goes off. no error msg is displayed. it just refuses to work. ive tried everything short of a factory reset (which im not keen on doing) has this happened to you? how do you fix it?

This may sound stupid, but do you have an active internet connection(3G/Edge/etc.)? Most Android devices won't allow you to create a hotspot without it.

It's not by any chance already connected via WiFI to something else? Maybe turn the Wifi off first.

WiFi SSID already exists? Try changing the SSID

There is some way you can look at the Android logs but I'm not sure how to do it.

Yup. Have full strength HSDPA signal.

Nope. Not already connected to WiFi. And I have fiddled with the ssid.
