I'm bummed. The phone is listed as new suggested price of R5800, but all over it is selling at way over R6000. How come? I know - mark-up etc. Now I feel silly for selling my phone for R4300 (Samsung Galaxy S2) as I can't get the Sensation for even R5000! Bummer!!! :(

Welcome to South Africa, get the Vaseline ready. On Amazon the Sensation is selling for $505. (About R3700). SA cellphone networks are worse crooks than the mafia.

YOU DIDNT!!

The Galaxy S2 is worth R6500 new, so I would have sold it for R5500 if it was me.

Someone got a real good bargain & most probably engraved the name "Shads" on his/her phone. :)

LOL!!!! You won't believe how I almost got robbed! Someone tried to pull the "switch" onto me. When I got a legit offer, I took it!

You won't believe how people don't want to pay. But try to buy one and you see the prices!

LESSON LEARNT!!!

Got the HTC Sensation for R4200. I know that I've still got to pay import duties, but it is by far the best price. Did a bit of research and it seems most people find them to be the cheapest. And delivery by courier is within 3 - 5 working days! Can't wait!

So I guess its considered a grey import? What if it goes blarg and explodes?

Still can't believe you sold the SGS2. I got mine after owning a DHD and I love it. Some things the DHD had were better but more things positive for the SGS2. I do miss my DHD solid feel though.

Hope it all works out :)

SGS2 is on another level... you cant even compare it to the sensation LOL :( why oh why would you sell the worlds most powerful phone :P

You can. Both dual-core phones, but the build quality on the HTC much better than the Sammy.

Ever used Sense UI? ;)

The Galaxy S II is plastic. Feels plastic. And once you're used to sense, you can't go back. Every review states the sense experience is by far the best. The Galaxy's hard wear is slightly better, but not by so much that you'd notice a difference. Also, I love the feel of a more solid phone in hand. I always felt that I could drop this phone.

It is a grey import - and according to murphy something will go wrong now. But I haven't had phone problems (that I needed to take it in) for years! But my sister-in-law's phone (blackberry) gave trouble and she took it to a cell company up the road and they charged R200 to repair. And Vodacom quoted R2400 for repairs. It's still working perfectly years later. Also, if it is major problems, the company does offer one year warrantee - you just have to post it back.

I'm just glad I got it so cheap. Really wanted this phone, but I thought I'd have to give up on it and get the Galaxy again (got one listed for R4300 in Jhb) - brand new. But I didn't want to go that route. But also didn't want to downgrade.

I honestly can't wait! Already ordered stax of accessories for it!

It is a great phone and people are raving about it. ;)

Good stuff. Im glad youre excited :) Let us know what its like when it arrives.

As for Sense, its definitely better than Touchwhiz but I use SPBShell 3D so I dont miss it that much.

Both are awesome phones and I guess no one has the right to slate the other...unless you have owned both (like Shads and I ;), a small elite club lol)

Bummer - somehow the bank and the company's connection was mixed! Deal got cancelled. My bank says the deal shows cancelled on their side. Told me I could keep an eye out to see if it goes off my account, but it should not go as the deal shows cancelled. If I want to proceed, I need to do a new deal. Decided to rather go local and pay extra.

I want to order from Premium phones. Anyone here bought from them as yet? They seem to be the cheapest and I can go collect.

Let me know!

@ FarligOpptreden: Still plastic.

I want my phone! Can't they deliver already?!
