I would like to know does htc sync work on apple macs? I need to keep my outlook contacts synced with my HTC phone.Does anyone know how this is to be done on a mac and which alternative app I can download from the apple store? I will be using either IWorks or Microsoft Office for Mac.This process will determine which suite I would purchase.

Don't know.

But if you have your Outlook/Exchange credentials then you can access your outlook contacts via your phone. Without needing sync.

I'm not connectect to exchange I manage all my contacts and calendar via outlook and would like all this info on my phone as well.Or would I need to keep my windows setup the way it is just to do that function I just need some app to do the same on mac as I currently do on windows.

And also a additional question how do u mac users sync your phones or does this mean I need to get me a Iphone aswell?

It auto syncs to gmail, wat I did was, export from Outlook to dag, import to gmail, and let the phone do the rest.

On second thought, maybe that won't work, because maybe you want ongoing sync for outlook...

Can't see why outlook sync is not possible, most phones can do outlook sync.

Edit:

There is a troubleshooting thread, so that means it must be possible

HTC Sync doesn't work...period. I downloaded the latest version from the HTC site and it still doesn't work. Maybe it's a Wildfire thing:wtf:

I got a Moto Defy now so the Wildfire is a backup phone:D

so actually what is the rule here if you have a mac get a iphone as no android will be able to sync with it or should i just run a instance of windows with bootcamp load office on and then htc and synce via that? It's strange to see that mac users dont really own android phones or am I making a assumption:whistle:

I'm running Office on Win 7 using Parallels - awesome program btw. I've ordered a Desire S and am hoping it should Sync seamlessly with the Win7 VM.

Thanks Speedster but those solutions will not quite work for what I need it to do.I do not want all my contacts on my google accout I keep all my contacts in outlook itself and do all my email through outlook not the website ,Ive tried the csv route but no success the file imports but the fields are all messed up I dnt see myself correcting 2000 contacts fields on the website I got addressed work cell fax and home numbers in outlook with bday dates and work addresses when these are imported the fields are either wrong or missing.

So to put it simple I want my hole outlook on my phone ie. full contactlist and full calendar details like it is at the moment just wanna do the syncing from my mac like I did from the windows laptop.

Is there any solutions to these issues out there? Or is it driving me to a Iphone 5 for my upgrade in mid 2012

So the Desire S arrived yesterday and I was able to HTC Sync with Outlook (running on a Win7 VM) pretty easily. Not sure about Outlook for Mac though.

I got me the flyer this week and HTC is giving me problems already I did a reset on the tablet and now the thing don't pick up on HTC sync I re-installed the app on 2 other pcs still no luck but when my buddy plugs his in it picks up what do I have to do to make it pick up in HTC sync again I need to add my calendar and contacts again?

Possibly try and reload the driver, which is a separate uninstall. Check programs under control panel, there should be 2 htc programs listed, one being the driver.

Although, since you have tried other pc's, its a long shot

I forgot to mention that I did the ota update just before the problem could that be the cause? I even did a reset of the tablet to factory default still no luck
