I'm still setting up the Touch HD, which arrived this morning.

The indispensable source, as always, for HTC devices is XDA-Developers.

XDA-Developers Forum for Blackstone - ROMs, apps, tweaks, tips and tricks.

My system, ordered last week from Inkino in UK, has the following device info:

ROM version: 1.14.405.3 (22273) WWE
ROM date: 10/24/08 (24 Oct 2008)
Radio version: 1.09.25.14
Protocol version: 52.49a.25.26U

Hey, I've just discovered there's a Customise Tabs option on the Settings tab. At last one can set TF3D tabs on and off, and rearrange the order without having to load a customisation app. Some like Home, Programs, Settings can't be turned off. TF3D is looking better and better.

Anybody else got a Touch HD and blown in some cooked ROMs? Any suggestions? I've found the standard ROM (with HTC's patches) perfectly fine, and TF3D is really zippy, so what what the compelling features of ROMs you've tried?

HD and YouTube

Hi Arthur

I got my HD yesterday afternoon from Vodacom. One of the first apps I tried was YouTube and it opens up the site pretty fast. When opening a video however I get the message "Error Cannot play this video". I suppose it requires a different video player or codec. Any idvise. Thanks.

Hi psavv. Congrats on getting the HD. I'd never tried the Youtube app until seeing your post now. It works fine on my HD, whether 3G or USB/PC connect to web. I can't think why it's not working on your system, other than perhaps a codec issue ... I also have Coreplayer 1.3 installed, and perhaps a Coreplayer codec is supplying what the Youtube app doesn't? I have Video Playback Quality set to Auto-select (default).

Thanks for that. Got the coreplayer and it is playing videos. Youtube didnt work but this morning it worked. Could have been the particular video or perhaps it is the connection.

One more question, which I couldnt find an answer to on the web. How do i get the stock program to give me south african stock prices. It is being sold as a feature here but whats the use of american stock quotes? Do you (or somebody) know how to do this.
