Hi there

I've bought a HTC Touch Pro phone in Dec 2008. Although I really like it, it think there are a few software issues which I hope will be fixed by a firmware update. I can't seem to find one yet - does anyone know if a firmware update is available and where I can find it? I tried leaf.co.za and HTC's site. Leaf has nothing and HTC has one but my serial number phone isn't included in that upgrade. I have ROM version 1.90.421.1 WWE (ROM date 08/03/08) and Radio version 1.02.25.19. My biggest gripe with the phone is the low earpiece volume. My friend has a Touch Diamond (which is effectively the same phone without the hard keyboard) and the earpiece is MUCH louder. The Touch Diamond seems to have firmware updates. Any suggestions? By the way - anyone here used any of the HTC phones with Google's Andriod on?

I got mine this year and found a firmwareupdate for it. Just keep checking your serial number on htc's website and one should get to you soon (mine wasn't listed for quite a while, but the serial did eventually get added.). The thing is that you have to wait for the phone's supplier (I'm guessing voda or MTN) to approve the update before you'll be able to get it for their supplied devices.

Mine is rom version 5.05.421.1WWE
and radio ver 1.11.25.01

Have you set the volume up all the way (using the buttons next to the screen) during a call?

Thanks for your reply. Yip, I've set up my volume (in-call volume) up to max, and it is ok if I am in a relative quiet environment. If I am in a noisy environment (like a restaurant, airport, etc) I struggle to hear a caller. The HTC Touch Diamond is MUCH louder. I've seen on some of the overseas HTC forums (XDA-Developers) that this seems to be an issue with all HTC Touch Pro's and that HTC will fix it with a firmware update. It might be that your firmware (which seems much newer that mine) already includes this fix? Where did you download your firmware update from?

I got my firmware from htc:
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=140&cat=2&dl_id=501
Type in your serial (I had to wait a few months before mine actually allowed me to download the firmware). If your phone supplier has approved the upgrade, you'll be able to select the file and download it.

The upgrade will kill off everything that you have done to your phone, so I'd suggest using the backup program that came with the phone to make a backup (assuming you want to keep somethings).

Thanks! I just checked and my phone is now available for upgrade - thanks a mil! I've backed it up and was able to update it without any problems. :)
