HTC touch Pro Issue

Hey guys,

Just got myself a Touch Pro, and am having a bit of a crisis with it.

I have tried a couple of different SIM cards in it, and so far it seems not to take any of them (It detects that the SIM is in the phone, asks for a PIN, can even read which providers SIM is in the phone) but it refuses to register on the network.

Now, I have tried Vodacom and MTN SIM cards, and both seem to do the same thing.

The wierd part is that the person I bought the phone from was using the phone, but he had a Virgin SIM card in it.

Could the phone be network locked? Is it even legal to have network locked phones in SA?

What possible options do I have now?
