HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

hmm btw ... why does it say image version 1.98.3 on the updater?

Don't sweat it ... when they package the RUU you can pretty much put any description in there, so yeah, whatever you see is most probably NOT what you are flashing.

If i were you I'd wait another week or so and wait for JJ to release his final Black X ROM. Which can be found here:
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/hermes-black-rom-support/

Secondly, try upgrade your radio ROM to either 1.48.00.10 or the one i posted in my previous post.

NNBBB!!! Make sure you have HardSPL 2.10 installed by Olipro, otherwise you could result in bricking your device for good. Here is the guide:
http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=27

Go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=355 to view all the Windows Mobile 6 ROMS available. Its mainly preference at the end of the day. Schaps and V3pg Roms are known to be very stable.

Post back if u need any help.

I'm running radio 1.48.00.10. Might upgrade it to 54 seeing the comments today. I know about all the roms on xda, just wanted the SA opinion :). Seems the choice is between black x & schaps (haven't heard much about v3pg)

Dude your device sounds sick. do you have any additional apps installed on your device?
i would suggest Hard resetting the device and testing it like that for a while
Yup, installed apps are:
Kaiser comm manager
HTC Home plugin
VoIP (great app btw, works wonders with asterisk)
Microsoft OneNote
Minimo & Opera (my never ending quest to find a mobile browser that works with nedbank's internet banking!)

I'll try upgrading the radio + hard resetting this weekend. That fails I'll move on to a cooked rom.

Thanks for the help

Schap's has got all that stuff bog standard so you know it's gonna work.

All I changed was the colour using the Black files and a different colour comm manager.

Apps added are emoze, Shozu and Skype.

You forgot to add Microsoft Minutes. that is the same a chic saying i will be dressed in 5 minutes. an hour later and you still waiting

HAHA! So true.......

I'm loving the 1.54 RADIO.. I can NEVER make phone calls in my kitchen, so where else to test the radio....

Made a clear 10 minute call in my kitchen and walked from fridge to pantry several times with no disconnections or problems ;))))

I think we have found the one.....

I agree with limnos ... when using HSDPA and receiving a call, the radio switches the data connection to GPRS, for better call quality ... 1.54 is definitely a winner!

I would assume the same, as the video call is not a true data connection ... I haven't tried it yet ... will do it a bit later and let you know :D

for video calling you have to be connected on UMTS.
AnyHo, an auto connection switch is a really cool idea. the other option was using an app on your today screen to flip between connections. run the device on GSM and when you need high speed data you switch the connection with one tap of the stylus, with this app your battery life was improved but the downside is no video calling

Thanks. Seeing as most people are raving over the 1.54 radio I'm definitely going to give it a go with Schap's. Thanks for info folks

Funny thing, I have never actually made a video call ....... will need to suitable damsel covered with the smallest of towels to call me before I become a believer.

Yip, also used to have Bandswitch installed to do this.

Landy, are you running Auto ?

I am GSM 900+1800 + UMTS 2100+850

Leaving the 3G off untill I need it as it chows the battery.

I don't really use Video dialling either, so not too bothered about.
Yeah, I am on auto (Have to bypass company firewall quite often, so don't want to switch between bands the whole time).

The 3G switch on the "Kaiser Comm manager" works really well

My wife uses her N95 pretty much 3+ hours a day to make calls ... battery didn't even last a day. Switched the 3G off on Wednesday, and she hasn't recharged yet

When making a video call when connected to HSDPA, the connection remains active, but paused. As soon as you kill the video call, it resumes the connection, ie. it doesn't disconnect and reconnect

not many people use Video calling, i didnt really have a use for it either until my Bro moved up to Jozi, now it is the only way i get to my little nephew.

Twice, 2 different people have tried calling me. The call comes through to the device and after 2 rings just drops. The person on the other end told me it was as if the call was rejected.

Has this happened to anyone yet?

Otherwise, apart from that small tiny issue, the RADIO is working superb for me!

Oh yes, and one more quickie: One of my mates is looking for a super light ROM.

Any recommendations on one?
