Just wondering from the other folk here, how often you sync to an exchange server (if you do)? How often you download e-mail from a POP server and how many accounts you download from?

I'm currently on LSVW's 20070507_RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.30.0.9 ROM and it's the most stable one for me yet. Will most likely stick with this one for a while.
 
I've done it, I've read the whole thread!

Got my tytn a week ago, it was too complicated for my mother so I'm getting her a p990 (she has a p900 ATM) and I get the tytn.

So far I've just run hard-spl 2.1 and radio 1.41, I believe hard-spl 2.1 includes superCID, am I right?

I found this site: http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php has really great tutorials on doing the ROM upgrades. Next up is a WM6 rom, I'm just waiting to see which one comes out tops...
 
Well my theory is if u HARDSPL the thing - u can't go wrong... so just do that and if something screws up - u have a backup plan.

I bricked mine nearly once - without hard-SPL, and i was able to recover it after stressing my ass off for a while.

I have never bothered with super-cid, and i've always been fine.


Oh and congratulations for reading the whole damn thing... i do believe we respect u more than the ones just keep asking the SAME questions over and over and over and over and over!!!!!

HELP: Did I BRICK My Phone????

Hi Guys!!
I followed the steps above.
STEP ONE: Super CID - The first time it went wrong cause the ACtiveSync was not on to complete this step. So, I never got the Unlocker thing on my phone in order to unlock the phone. (What happened is that I probably forgot to put on the password after rebooting, so the ActiveSync never recognised the phone.

So, I decided to restart the step and I completed it successfully!!

STEP TWO: Hard SPL - This step also went ok.

STEP THREE: RADIO ROM. After the phone booted from the above step, my laptop does not recognize the phone anymore!!!! The battery charging sign only appear for a few seconds then I get a pop up saying "One of your USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it". This means that the ACtiveSync cannot run. I have tried this on my Laptop and my PC but same results.

My phone looks ok though, so what went wrong guys? Wha:confused: t are my options here?

HELP: No Video Call after Upgrading!!!

Hi One again guys

As mentioned above, I finally managed to flash my TyTN to (ROM Vesion: 3.30.0.8, ROM Date: 17/04/07, Radio version: 1.41.00.10, Protocol Version: 32.74.7020.18H).
Everything looks great and I'm loving it. However, I cant make nor receive video calls anymore:confused: ! In fact, the Video Call application/settings, etc has vanished:confused: !!! If I go to Start/Call or just simply press the Video Call button, there is no option for video calls???

Please help

A lesson in "HOW FORUMS WORK"
In the top right hand side of this page you will see an icon: "Search This Thread"

Type Video Call

Press <ENTER>

Read the messages that pop up!

If other people can read through nearly 2096 posts to get up to date - then surely YOU can just search for something as simple as that.

on MANY MANY MANY occasions have there been posts stating that u need to install seperate cab files to enable video calling.... and not even 20 posts ago, it was said that the Black3.0 ROM is a VERY basic rom, with the bare essentials loaded ONLY - and that if u read further it states that should u wish to have more features worrking: such as video calling, and voice dialing... INSTALL THEM SEPERATELY!

However, as you may have noticed that all the files I installed came from this website, unfortunately dotVibe did not mention that this was gonna happen.
Not that I blame him ofcourse, just that in future reference it will be a good thing to mention such things especially for WM Novices like us:D .
Having said that, I managed to resolve the problem through XDA forum.

yeah, sorry about that. Video call is such a minor thing, i didn't know anyone actually uses it!
Also super easy to fix.
 
Morning all.

I'm trying to copy a 350mb file from my Pc to my TYTN.

The problem is that it will do a bit and then just start all over again, thus never actually completeing the process.

Eventually I used Resco Explorer's Sent To My device option from Windows Explorer and it copied it a cross.

The only problem there was that it took me 45 mins.

Now call me crazy but that just doesn't cut it!!

Any ideas?

Are you copying the file to the memory card on your device?
if you are copying 350 MB it would be wise to use a card reader ... cos remember the data is going via USB .. then through the data bus on your PDA then to the card ...

Yeah copying them to my ScanDisk 1GB.

Another question on memory card issues:

Every now and then I need to re-insert my SD card so that the phone will pick it up. I tried a search and saw that Limnos was talking about a Storage Card Fix?
