Black Shadow - fix
OK, seems the fixed version is already available. HSDPA sorted and the hanging on soft reset is fixed.

ok... anyone notice that u only had like 470 contacts restored?
I used PIM Backup... so i dont know if it was PIM Backup... or whether it was a bug in Black....
When i used Emoze - i got everything back beyond N... before that ALL my contacts after N just wasn't there!!

no... this is a new upgrade... dymond gets replaced.... this is a ROM.... don't get too used to a ROM that you have... cause every 2 weeks a new one comes out - and you're gonna upgrade

Damn it do you really think this is better than Dymond?
Well Shadow is based on the official WM6 release, so its supposed to be better.
But I cant really see a difference in stability/performance. I do prefer Shadow though (HTC Home is cool together with the new Messaging)

Looks like the 4winmobile site/forum has tanked ......... can't open up anything there.
I downloaded Shadow just before noon , but now I am not sure if I have the latest and greatest version.
It is reporting a size of 42,405 KB, not sure if the newest version might be a different size.

I dont wanna waste my precious data bundle for a wrong file, any news whether this is the updated file or not?
Ok the first file read 'Shadow.exe' the updated one reads 'Shadow.rar'. So, I'm currently downloading it...

Only issue with Shadow is it does not have 3g video calling.

Finally, I upgraded and re-installed all my apps/settings etc. I just wanted to get it over with. My 'wife' will be visiting me tomorrow so, I cant be playing with phones! I hope the rom will be on its best behaviour so that I can give my undivided attention to my 'wife'.

Eventually done! Black Shadow was worth waiting for.
I thought I had bricked my phone today, but luckily for SPL 2.1, all was alright in the end by God's good grace. I seem to have a problem everytime I try and update the radio. I have decided to leave it alone now. Got to 1% and told me it had ended sucesfully. Needless to say it hadn't, and I was stuck with the tricolor boot screen.
Eventually downloaded the WM5 ROM off Leaf's site and flashed that back on to the phone, and the updated to Black Shadow. What wasted so much time was trying to understand the XDA and Mr Vanx's sites and going through the reams of fixes for a ?brick. In the end, just a flash back to WM5 did the trick!
Black 4 seems quite quick and I like the weather settings etc. Had to enter Durban's details in the xml file but it was quick and easy.
Sleep well.
