HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Black Majik: Hmm, battery life is excellent. I have to add that I didn't use it alot over the weekend, but it was charged on Friday during the day, and I popped it into the charger last night at about 11pm, still with 30% life left.

I have picked up a couple of issues with the Bluetooth though: Connected fine with the Landy, connected OK with the BMW. But, second connect on the BMW it showed a Mac address on the car display, and not the phone name. And this morning in the Landy, it showed my user name (as in the owner info settings), and not the actual device name. Connection to the carkit was also not successful. Anyone else having BT issues?

What GSM settings are you using? I had the same issue, but I have my Network set to GSM and the GSM/UMTS set to GSM (900+1800) + UMTS(2100) which works much better for me. I don't use my phone for Internet connectivity and mostly for calls only. The GSM setting above is used by all Operators in SA so it should work fine and my battery life has increased significantly with this setting.

Looks like my exact settings except that I run a permanent GPRS connection and using BandSwitch to flip to 3G/HSDPA when required.

PS. Seems BandSwitch is no longer freeware, will have to revert to one of the older versions. The added functionality does not make that much of a difference to me so V.1.8 or 1.9 might do the trick.

I agree - battery life is great on Majik.

WM6 bluetooth is a little odd at times, which is still better than WM5 was. I have found that I never have too many problems connecting to my Plantronics 510 once it is paired. BT on the TyTn will sometimes turn itself off when battery gets low. After a quick charge, all is back to normal.

With regards BMW BT, my experience has been excellent as long as I make sure the phone is turned on before I start the car - Phone on, BT active, full address book sync happens with no problems. If the phone is off, the contact sync very often doesn't happen but calls can be made by manually entering the number or making the call from the phone contacts.

I have also experienced the MAC address problem, but this seems to be a "problematic pairing" and once I have deleted that pairing and re-paired, I don't have that problem again and all is well.

WMP10 - XMEMediaLibrary.mlb

I found the "XMEMediaLibrary.mlb" file on my storage card and it is huge!! How do I safely get rid of it?

Edit: Now MP complained about a corrupted library, rescanned the memory card and the file is back down to 100k size. Anyone know why this file behaves this way?

Already.... Sheesh, can't keep up with these boys...

Has anyone installed it yet?

I installed Radio 1.47 just before I left the office (risky rush job :p) ... had very good reception all the way home (bands set to Auto, Auto and not on GSM as per usual). Also, the phone seems slightly faster with Radio 1.47 and Black Majik ... From dialling a number to actually getting connected is also much quicker now (on Vodacom)

That ROM is not for the TyTN/ 838pro!!!! The correct version is scheduled to be released today.

Scheduled, yes, actually happening, no.

The HTC Australian sites already had a notification stating that the release has been postponed until further notice.
Asia had a nice BIG front page indicating the release dates for the different ROMS ... that page disappeared during the night (homepage is now blank).
It would appear that we *might* only see it on the 15th, if we are lucky

The Asia servers are extremely busy ... can't connect currently. Busy downloading the HK WWE version from Megaupload

Black Satin seems to be a heavily stripped ROM ... Gonna try the official one first, and see from there which way to go.

I also saw JasJammin is not going to cook another Hermes ROM ... moving on to a newer device

@LandyMan:
Please let us know how the ROM performs!
