HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

sorry buddy, this update is not even 24 hours old yet. I qued for 50 mins to get it.

That one is a dud !

"This server has a broken drive, which will be replaced as soon as possible. No data is lost. Unfortunately downloads from this server are not possible right now. We hope to continue with normal operation within the next 24 hours."

This is working again :D, do i just do a straight install? or is there anything that I need to know before I install this. Also if I backup my files can I restore them with this version or will I have backward compaitable issues?

some files will work, most programs won't.

get the 2nd one of the listed ROMs

Howzit guys.

If anyone gets a different site to d/l it from, please inform.

That Rapidshare it possible the k@kste site I've ever used! Spent a hour and a half to try and d/l it.

Maybe if someone have some bandwith they can do a torrent for us?

Tx

Mine died at 60% while I was away for quiz night. Connection was still up when I got back, but it would not resume. Rapidshare does not support resume or download accelerators unless you cough up some dough.

Let's try again ........

Just read this - looks like anyone with an existing HTC device will not be able to get WM6 from HTC which brings into question the warranty issues explained earlier.

"XDA Developer forum member swartb received an email regarding a Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for his current HTC P3600. Basically, HTC responded with a reply that no upgrade path would be offered for current devices, leaving only newly released devices getting some WM6 love.

This is in stark contrast to what other OEM's (and even mobile carriers) have initially stated regarding upgrading existing devices.

Anybody remember what Gerald Ford told NYC back in the 70's that made the front page of the newspapers? Kind of the same thing here.

Bad news indeed if this comes to pass

BTW,

Version 0.20 is due on March 5th. Will include niceties like MSN, Video Calling and a coupla bug fixes. Not that I've seen any bugs.

No messenger in this version. MSN Live should be included soon. I can't say I noticed since I use OctroTalk for googletalk.

@dotVIBE

1). Will I be able to revert back to the old ROM if needed? Is it easy or do I need a degree in some form of programming...?

2). Will my Handymap AI Gold GPS software work on WM6?

3). Must I install the radio stack you mentioned? Is there another link

4). Must I first install the radio stack or the WM6 ROM?

5). Will I lose all my contacts, sms's, emails and installed programmes?

6). Will my Tytn be the same or better or will I mess it up forever...?

7). Is WM6 stable and will it work - I just call, sms, email and GPS.

8). Where can I get the orig Rom except from Rapidshare? Please supply a link if you can... :o

9). How long does it take to install?

Thanks, and sorry for the bundle of questions - I just don't wanna mess my phone up...

1. Yep
2. Yep
3. Nope, but its not a bad idea to so. I'd say anything less than v1.27 is holdg you back.
4. Anywhich way.
5. Your contacts will sync back via Activesync, you will lose your installed programs, SMS's, etc.
6. Should be better. Mine is.

Note that this is the first of a series of XDA Live ROMs. To get the best one, you're gonna have to go through this a coupla times. Or you can wait for a few weeks, and get one further along the line.

For me this was worth the install, despite the funny things & let out things, it's already waaaaay better than my last ROM.

Thanks for your quick and helpful answer but I edited the post and you missed a few questions... Sorryyyyy!!!!!!

If you have time please answer them...

If I only call, sms, email and GPS I suppose I'll be okay? I don't mind setting up the phone a few times... It won't even take me half an hour to do so...

ok maybe i should be declared really dumb or something.... but can someone please tell me again how to check which version of radio or rom or whatever else i should be on.... and what is the process to find this out on the phone

thanx

7. Most stable one so far
8. Download from Leaf Website, or dump your own ROM. See above post.
9. Installs in about 5 mins. Radio stack takes about 20 mins. don't ask me why:confused:

Yeah. sms, email, GPS & voice calls all work perfectly in this ROM, imo better than any previous ROM
