HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Im running the Full install of WM6 for Hermes LVSW Edition. But its the one before the 2007-03-20 ROM:3.22.200.2. Havent had problems yet except for the MIDLet manager thats damn slow.. And the memmory leaks still in the OS. WM6 ROCKS though!!

I've been running WM6 Black 1.2 for a few days now and it's been a blast!

Everything works well and it is definately fast!

I have a few questions:

1. How do I get the files on my memory card to sync with activesync?
It only sync's the files in the device onboard memory.

2. Is it possible to connect to my pc or even printer via wireless lan?
I have a wireless router and network setup at home, but cannot seem to connect to my pc from the tytn or vica verca.

How exactly does HardSPL work?

I mean i installed it - and it was as if it was flashing my rom... but does that mean that i never have to do it again now? *confused*

Yep, Hard SPL is now installed until you install a new bootloader. If you go into bootloader mode, you will see it listed.

If you do an official ROM update, like the new SA HTC ROM from Leaf which includes radio, extROM etc, a new bootloader will be installed, and you'll have re install.

Just a ROM flash, like one of the WM6 lashes, will not affect your bootloader status.

Personally i think Activesync is K@K!!!

if you compare it to something like Missing Sync in OS X, then you can see what crap microsoft really created... i've lost all my contacts like 3 times now whenever i install a new ROM.... and it's not a matter of just syncing it back - because i'm on OSX - it doesn't sync to WM6, because there's something different with WM6 and ActiveSync4.5....

Just another normal microsoft product where they force u to use their product / thinking...with no options of your own

one thing I have noted with ActiveSync is that it will at times duplicate contacts and other sync items. Though that might have to do with replacing items on server.

bc1 - you didn't by any chance restore data from a previous ROM?

I'm not a big fan of ActiveSync either, nut it seems to work ....... most of the time.

I only use it to move files to my mem card. Everything else is synced via emoze as I don't have and Exchange server.

If someone can suggest a better way of doing it I am prepared to listen.

What did get my nut was the fact that I can't sync all the data via Active sync and then just keep it updated via emoze .......... oh no ......... when you tell ActiveSync not to sync Mail, Contacts, Tasks etc. then it wants to delete everything like a spoiled brat.

Grrrrrrrrr !

Oh, and I also got three Harry Potter PS2 games with my TyTN (Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prizoner of Azkaban). Since I am neither a Harry Potter fan nor have a PS2 I am willing to entertain offers for these games. PM me if interested. I will also be putting them up in the classifieds at some stage today.

How/where did you get that?

I only got the TyTn, no extras...

Are you sync' ing to a local machine and a server?

The Guy - the syncing of contacts is limited only to the exchange server. The only thing that syncs with the local computer is the IE Mobile Favourites folder.

nawu - MTN have entered into an agreement with my employer. I don't know where MTN sourced the TyTN I got.

Everytime I have done it (about 3 or 4 times) it has rendered the messaging interface unusable. And I have seen for instance the folks from SPB say that their backup software is not meant to be used across ROM upgrades.

Oh yeah. I also got the PS2 Games. I'll have to remember to go dig them out and give them away. Should make a nice birthday gift :D

Do you guys know if there is a better remote desktop application available for WM5/6?
I am thinking something like radmin.

The default one causes the user on the pc to be logged off, when connecting from my TyTn.
