Hi. Can anyone tell me how long my battery should last.
I get on average 60 min talktime before battery is dead by midday.
On standby....10 hours.
My normal usage is pretty high, but a friend has has the imate jasjam, with higher usage, yet a substantially longer battery life.
Bluetooth is off; and the second 'u' is manually turned off, after an email send / receive. I do not surf the net, as the battery would die even quiker.
Bought a second battery...same problem.

Checked your bill yet? Some cellphone virus (mainly symbian systems) do send out MMS in the backgroud and drains your battery like no business and your phone bill will.......

Again, check what other programs is running in the backgroud (heard some extreme cases activesync running in background will search for connection all the time), I knew someone had similar problem, very short battery life.....If nothing prevail, maybe need to take the phone back.......

Do you have M exchange active for your mail? Its continuosly sending "pings" to your server checking for mails, it could be that or also if you have active sync on. Also reduce the brightness of your screen.

You should get about 3.5 hours talk time .. like JK8 said if you are connected to an exchange server your battery life will suffer cos you have a Data Channel open all the time ...

How would I know my jk8 server is running , or any other services are running?

if you have the pushmail facility connected to your exchange server your e-mail's will arrive like your SMS'es ... anyways a quick way to check your battery is with a Multi meter ... find someone who knows how to use it.
