What is the most recent model in the HTC family?

Need something like an updated JasJar. Can get any model, know the TyTn II is a favorite but they keyboard and screen is a bit small.

The Shift / Advantage is running Vista Business, would prefer a simpler Windows Mobile version.

Any suggestions / recommendations?

How deep is your pocket?

The Shift isn't available in SA so you'll have to import it. It runs Vista (with Aero :)) and Snap Vue which saves power and gives you WM6/Widget-like acces to mail, weather and a few other things. I've read that it cant make phone calls, unless you use Skype. It can send SMS

The Advantage only runs Windows Mobile, the new one runs WM6 and the old one still runs WM5. It has GPS which the Shift doesn't have, it can also make calls...but I'd suggest getting a bluetooth headset so people dont laugh at you :p

must be available on contract upgrade....

So its a choice between the TyTn II / Advantage?

Talk about chalk and cheese ... do you go for the little sports car or the Mini Van ...... Anyho .. which HTC Advantage is it ??? the X7500, X7501 or the X7510 ???
The advantage is not great as a phone ... it is classed with Ultra Mobile PC's, in its weight class with the UMPC, the windows mobile platform counts against it because of the limitations of running full blown desktop apps.

The Shift ... running Vista ... i am not a big fan of Vista simply because of its need to consume just about every available resource ... Vista can turn a Porche into a Toyota Tazz ...

But at the end of the day everyones needs are not the same ... it boils down to what need from a device.
