HTC Wildfire Rooting

I'm really keen to root my phone, after looking at the options I thought CyanogenMod would be a good choice, but then I see for the stable release that is has quite a few bugs like corrupted video recording...
any suggestions please?

Which v? 6 or 7? There are other mods but CM seems to be most popular. I have CM
