Connection: Fiber ONT -> Huawei AX3 -> Ethernet to PC.

Often when I'm streaming something the internet will go down & the network connection icon in the taskbar will change to show no internet.

If I right click and select Troubleshoot Problems, it eventually re-establishes the connection & everything works again.

Any idea what's causing this & how to prevent it from happening?

I replaced that router in the first week after receiving it from Afrihost.

I now use an old school Tenda AC10 router. It covers my whole yard and not fail on the way to the the first bedroom like the AX3.

The Huawei don't play well with older/non premium devices too. If you don't have a device with Wifi 6, it's hit and (a lot of) miss.

If it's only the one Windows device doing that, it's the Windows device.

If multiple non-identical devices are doing that, it's the router. (Or the Internet connection.)

Just the LAN-connected pc that drops. Only other device connected is phone via wifi.

Maybe it's some power saving green feature, see what happens if you disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Never had any issues with mine even on old WiFi N devices. It's rock solid.

Forgive me if you already tried but I can’t see it mentioned. I have had this issue on the same unit , changing the LAN port resolved it for me. When it also happened before , it was also a loose network cable ( clips broke). Using the same cable on another port on the router resolved it.

Please confirm you tried that.
