So i just got a notification on the new firmware update for the huawei b315-936 router. I am already updating it. A friend of mine said improve his router performance and rain speeds a bit.... so i figured anything is better than nothing right? i will upate with results in a few minutes.

do not update to that version. lol i updated mine to this one and i am having some issues with it... annoying ones like forcing password change. Can u backup your firmware and send it to me please? if possible

Hi there, would you mind elaborating a bit on the issues you having? I've been holding off on updating since getting the notification and I'm curious about the changes. Mine is currently on 21.321.03.00.1232.
Just forced password change which is annoying since you will have to change most stuff but signal strength is stable. It is not bad at all. now just need to re edit the band files.

Cool, thanks. Does this new firmware still not have the option to change the band in the interface? It's the one thing I'd really like that the Telkom branded firmwares have.
do not update to that firmware. I am now trying to reconfigure the band files... The signals and signal strength is stronger and stable though on this new firmware

Alright so i came to give an update. The speeds are slightly lower about 1mbs low than the previous firmware but the latency my God is so much better. With apex servers i used to get 180ms but now i get around 160ms (still high but atleast it is something) fortnite from 200ms to 170ms,..... cod warzone (165to 170ms from 200ms).... I would say the trade off is really good for me. Now the huawei band tool is a bit finnick for now, will have to look into customizing it but i just set LTE to all so it will automatically latch to the available band but my tower is not congested so it is okay with me.
This is the speed test i get while downloading windows 10 iso..... so i would say it actually worked out well for me in the end lol.

Enable updates and search but first are you having any issues with your current firmware?

The last 3 numbers refer to the branding.
If its 0 then its unbranded.
372 is Telkom
1232 is Cell-C

Or you can make your own, which is painful, but not that bad.

I stumbled upon gold boys lol. There are all still working downloads so if you have a firmware you want, now is the time to download but please. do your research before attempting to upgrade. i am not responsible for any f....k, up
