Which version do you have? If you have the B593s then there are three buttons on the side then power off hold upper button + middle, power on and wait three seconds, release buttons. You need to pay attention to the leds because that tells you which mode you're in. Do that key combo and it will enable telnet access. Move over to the /cpe directory which contains the current firmware image and the backup image or previous image. Just rename the backup to the current firmware name and reset.

If you have the B593U there is a program that forces upload of firmware image with the firmware download.

If you have the B593S by any chance and can upload a firmware image I would really appreciate it as my unit is beyond bricked atm.

These units are quite nice and I'm sure the firmware update program will sort you out, have a look on the Huawei website everything is listed there.

Good luck.

i have the HUAWEI B593s-601
i was told by HUAWEI Support 0860 861 111 that you can go to Century city Canal Walk Vodacom and they can update your router or fix your router.

i had taken my Router to HUAWEI @ Canal walk. they have Technicians on site when i got there they were busy with cellphones and other things, it will take them three working days to fix it or upgrade it.

okay when i get my router back and if they managed to Flash it back to Default Factory and fix the CWMP update feature i will create a firmware file for you i will send it to you on whatsapp or i will get the technicians to get a factory default of the same router and give it to you :)
which router do you have?? full name and model number.

maybe if someone else has the same router as you on this forum they can do the same to get the firmware backed up and do the whole process. i will only know by thursday next week if they fixed my router. when i go there and they are available to speak to i will suggest your idea to them and get them to make a Backup firmware of the whole router "if you have the same model number as me" this guy i bought the router from he had two of the same Huawei B593's different model numbers.
