Hi All

Please can someone point me in the direction or give me the contact details of an outlet where I could possibly purchase an External Aerial for a Huawei 970B wirless router.

Regards

Free B970 External Antenna, NO chance

Just wanted to let you know that Vodacom is supposed to be able to install a 3G antenna for you, I was told by Vodacom that their "Network Dep." will do the installation for free and should take 14 days.

HOWEVER, I tried this, requesting an antenna 1 month ago. I have not once heard from the networking team to finalize when they could install the antenna. I have phoned Vodacom on 155 about +- 20 times last month to try organize my antenna, well its been an entire month and nothing.

I have completely given up on the hope of a free antenna, going to also get one from poynting this Friday.

---EDIT---
Well I am on Vodacom Adv. Paying for a 3GB cap which is about R799 if I am correct.>> if that does not qualify me than what exactly does?????:erm:
About mid February Vodacom Networking team came to my house and did the "required" testing, just before I came to ask the techie about the testing they just left, where in and around the property for less that 4Min
Said they would CONTACT me if I qualified or if I DID NOT. Well its March Vodacom and nobody has called me, phoned you at the beginning of march and the operator said that it was pending....

!!Like to remind you that by simply ignoring me I am not going to magically disappear into the ether - unless that is if your 24 month contract where to simple "disappear"!!

Well from the sounds of it, it doesn't sound like you qualified for a free antenna and installation. Last I heard from a friend who got a free antenna with installation he had to spend a certain amount per month for him to qualify. Then another friend also tried to get a free antenna and installation, but he got only got given the free antenna, but no installation, he had to install it himself, which he was more than happy to. They just told him where to point it once they delivered the antenna. Both antennas were from Poynting as well, so it looks like they buy their goods from them too.

Then again, if you're suffering with coverage or signal problems, it's best to go buy one yourself, instead of waiting for a company to decide to maybe give you one. Why waist the time and headaches, just fork out the money, improve your signal and be happy from then on.
