Huawei cellular modem vs. Option cellular modem - your opinion ?

Hi,

I would like to know your opinion about Huawei vs. Option cellular modems,
as my experience is Huawei only based.

I would like to know if MDMA application does work with Option either
and what pros cons to select each one model.

Option modems were introduced on a local market some years ago.
Today Huawei modems are on sale.

I never tested Option as it costed a lot of money and only companies could afford it under plan.

Today Huawei modems came as low-cost alternative under pocket money plan.

On ther other hand, Acer notebooks are marketed as Option 380 embedded
products.

Visited Option's webpage and standard application for connecting to the Internet offers some basic features and diagnostic mode either.

Please let me know your opinion or about your experiences with Option vs. Huawei cellular modems, especially embedded into notebooks.

I find Huawei devices are better supported and easier to find downloads for.
If you are going to be programming for 3G modems I rank the manufacturers in the following order:

Sierra Wireless (AT commands available on their website)
Huawei (plenty of support, firmware upgrades, etc)
Option
Novatel (avoid! they don't support AT commands on the secondary channel)

Yes, MDMA does work with Option devices, but has been tested more extensively on Huawei devices (because they are more popular).
Huawei devices provide their own usage counters, Option devices don't.

many times and I am still not aware, what's so special with Option modems.
One day Paul said to represent Option in providing technical support for end-users of Option modems.

excellent is one of at commands to let you use your modem as a remote temperature sensor.

Number of standard and proprietary at commands goes in hundreds.
