Hi Guys

I've looked around on the web since this morning. There are lots of threads regarding this modem.

Is there any way to recover the modem from a bad firmware update?

I did the firmware update, which worked 100%. I then proceeded to update the VMC Lite client. During the process I got a message stating that the firmware is not responding.

The modem still picks up when inserting it. It does not load the ROM drive anymore, but I can see it in my device manager, this is probably due to old drivers already installed.

I have tried to re-update the firmware with multiple version. I tried to update the software with multiple versions as well, all the updates fail.

Best Regards

Did you by anychance forget to take your sim out before doing the firmware? If you leave the sim it it is bound to fail and once the firmware is screwed not sure if/how to recover from that. It happened to me cause I forgot to remove my sim before doing the firmware...sent it to Vodacare and they fixed it. Is your modem still under warranty?

The modem is pretty old from what I can see. It's one of our company's modems, so I doubt I will still be under warranty.

I removed the sim card, I read up about updating the modem before I did the update.

The only reason I did the update was to run it on Windows 7.

If it still works what the issue? Do you need the dashboard stuff? Just use MDMA and you sorted ;)

To answer a few questions...

No it doesn't work anymore, otherwise I wouldn't have cared about the software.

I did the update on XP.

I'm busy trying to those steps ginggs described. Will keep you posted.

So after I did that, I still get the same message as before. "Firmware not response!"

Dunno who translated that...
