I have an E272 modem, with the latest software, on a Vodacom contract as back up to a Telkom Wi-Max connect on my desktop. As of a couple of days ago, when I try to connect to the modem I got an (Microsoft generated??) error message indicating that there was a problem when I connected the modem to the desktop.
The modem works correctly on my laptop so I assume it's not a modem problem
I have gone through the motions of speaking to Vodacom support, uninstalling the software, and clearing all references to Vodafone from tthe registry.
When trying to do an automatic re-install opf the software, the intallation program appears to run OK until the point of "Starting Services", when the installation hangs for a few minutes, then shows "roll back action" and cancels the installation.
I have downloaded all relevant software from Vodacom's download site, but am a little wary of running any of them, as at least the modem is working on the laptop
Any thoughts as to the problem
