Hi

My Huawei E586 went crazy on Saturday.

The unit shows signal strength, 3G and "VODACOM"

but...

the minute a device like my ipad or phone tries to connect to the wifi it shows a little mobile phone transmitting a signal and then an "X" over the signal. See attached images. (Please don't mind the poor signal quality on this images. The coverage is just bad in the room where I was when I took the pictures.)

It has never done this before and needless to say the devices can't gain internet access.

I have resetted it, and tried everything - removing the battery and the sim card etc... And the simcard is not faulty either because I tested in another modem and even an iPad and all works 100%.

Maybe I am just missing something and I really hope one of you will be able to help me sort this out.

Thanks!

Looking at the pictures, I'm guessing that you do not have enough 3G signal to support a connection.

However, you say that you get an OK signal elsewhere... So I'd delete the WiFi profile from your iPad for this device and try connecting again...

I did that as well... Nothing solved the issue.

This forum was really my last resort.
