Huawei granted temporary licence to use Android

Huawei should just pull there support on all cell phone towers bring America to there knees this ban is just bs to strengthen American mobile phone footprint

You are aware that not many carriers (and I think none of the national guys) use Huawei equipment in the towers and core network?

Guys help me understand this:
I noticed Snapdragon 855 X50 modem, support sub-6Ghz~ 100mhz 4x4 MiMo
Which means is good since I know most LTE towers in South Africa support 4x4 MIMO already and Vodacom said Ideal spectrum block in 3.5Ghz is 100mhz. Huawei on the other hand balong 5000 support sub-6Ghz~ 100mhz 2CC CA, if am not mistaken that means two blocks of 100mhz in sub-6Ghz "3.5Ghz" and it seems like South Africa don't have that much of spectrum laying around. So guys which option is more realistic in South Africa based on the information above ? I know other factors take part but for average person like I, 2CC CA Vs 4x4 MIMO which option will offer better quality services in terms of speed and signal quality
I know Rain has 148mhz in sub-6Ghz and CA is like road lanes it helps traffic move fast

It's rural America that depends on Huawei's equipment or this 90-day reprieve wouldn't be issued.

Smaller rural carriers yes.... but it wouldn't bring America to its knees, it would hurt a bit...

Also the 90 day reprieve relates to Android, not their networking equipment from what I understand

**EDIT** Nope, I stand corrected, its for pretty much everything....

The US Commerce Department has said:
that the temporary licence is intended to give telecoms companies which rely on Huawei time to make other arrangements.
Just what I thought. This is not for Huawei's benefit. The US government has realised that many people (including some working for government) rely on Huawei devices. So the 90 day period would allow those people to transition over to non-Huawei devices without service interruption.

You wouldn't have service interruptions anyways?

Sorry for being daft, but how does an Android license affect network infrastructure?

Huawei make WAY more than just phones..

The extension covers Networking infrastructure, as well as the phones... and a few other things.

Exactly, everything Trump does is hurting that country. Going to be a lot of fixing to do.

Guess I'm never going to get Pie for my P10 after all then...was hoping I'd have had got it by now, but...

Time to jump ship 'praps, don't like doing that and think Huawei make gr8 affordable phones but you can't fight against insurmountable odds.

Is the ban going to stick for good i wonder
