Hi,
Please could someone help me.

Are there any software conflicts that I should know about with a Windows 7 home premium, SP1, 64-bit OP with the Huawei K4506?

what am I experiencing:
1. lack of connection
2. reloading pages with endless "unable to connect" & DNS Timeouts and pages not found and hundreds of reloads
3. Unable to uninstall the drivers for this device and re-install E220 (keeps finding the mybroadband device and attempts to reinstall)
4. Dropping connection
5. anything between 100% and 25% packets lost when pinging

what have I done?:
1. phoned vodacom
a. need new firmware (not the problem have the relevant firmware)
b. uninstalled/re-installed various software versions for vodafone
c. deleted vodafone folders from registry (does not uninstall the device and remains hidden somewhere)
d. deleted all possible connections for device (internet options, control panel)
2. phoned the provider (not vodafone) with no help whatsoever

what I want:
how do i remove this device from my pc completely so that I am able to install my perfectly good and working little E220?

Does this modem need manual configuration

Would really appreciate any help here.:(:wtf:

Thanks

What I usually do uninstall the vodafone mobile connect from program and features in control panel.
When that is done, I go to phone and modem options in control panel and delete the modem there.
Then I go to the registry and go to Hkey current user go to sosftware and delete vodafone. Restart pc. And install the modem again

Hi,

Thanks so much for the quick response - was and am doing my nut

@dadiggle - I have downloaded the hotfix and with luck I will see the fix in action (oh pls!!!!) thanks for the link I will let my provider know as well as it seems they might be interested to know this information

@homeboy - I tried all your suggestions, multiple times..
maybe the hotfix will now allow me to delete properly who knows.. i will only find this out should I need to un-install.. again

Thanks again.. my sanity remains..

if only i read your post before .. oh wait.. i couldn't!! :D

@dadiggle, would this mwconn cover both the E220 and K4605?
checked the documentation and it lists only the E220.
