Huawei launches its competitor to Android - Harmony OS

What I want to know is will the new OS be available for installation on older Huawei devices?
And secondly, will the device then be free of bloatware?

I am heartedly sick of all the baggage that comes with Android and Google.

Yep. That's true. Even Amazon had their own, for a while.

As I said earlier, it'll be interesting to see how Google and Facebook react. Google is really interested in protecting GMS, so will they allow the same apps to publish on Play Store and elsewhere? It's not beyond the bounds of probability that they'll cite security and API protection to shut out 'strategic' Android apps like WhatsApp not loaded from Play Store...

Amazon still has an appstore. Load it on all my android devices including my mibox.

I have a lot of paid apps I got for free on that store.

My first priority in choosing a cellphone is Google Android then manufacturer....I took Huawei of my list when their troubles with Google started while choosing a new device this year....now I know I made the right choice!
My first priority is non-Apple. My second priority is Huawei.

Antitrust. They're in a boatload of crap already.

After the Huawei fiasco, I decided to try it out. Moved from Samsung, Oneplus and Xiaomi.
Started of with P30 lite, moved to Mate 10 Pro.
Huawei had and has no trouble with Google. Google lobbied against the ban more than Huawei did.

I’m surprised you don’t get your apps from APKTime or Aptoide :X3:.
The odd app, maybe. But I buy an app once I use it enough. The odd $5-10 for something you use everyday is a bargain. Especially on multiple devices

You’re a man of (almost) total integrity! ;)

I definitely didn’t get TomTom Go from Mobilsm after TomTom ripped off buyers of the previous TomTom version that was discontinued and only given a time limited version of Go as a replacement :sneaky:.
