Huawei launches powerful iPad Mini rival

Huawei has launched its first compact tablet with a lighter, slimmer design that easily fits into pockets and handbags, and its hardware trumps Apple's competing offering in nearly every department.

Unveiled at the Huawei Innovative Product Launch in Madrid on Thursday, 26 February 2026, the MatePad Mini balances large screen real estate with portability.

Android is open source and there's actually nothing Google can do to prevent anyone from using it. It's only the Play store and Google ecosystem that's proprietary but you can side load those.
