Hey guys,

So a friend of mine has a Mate 8. They managed to lock it, then did a factory reset without enabling USB Debugging or anything, and now when it boots it is stuck at the Huawei Activation ID screen. They do not have the Activation ID code so cannot login to the device.

I am trying to root it back to stock to see if I can bypass this.

Obviously as I cannot access the device, I cannot get into settings and enable developer mode or anything like that.

I have tried using SRKTool, but that didn't work. I couldn't access the Bootloader and do not have the Activation ID for the device. Also, installed HiSuite but Windows does not recognise the device.

So, I am stuck. Any Huawei experts here who can advise?

This sounds a little confusing to me. What exactly is the Activation ID code? I've never heard of that before.
Are you trying to unlock the bootloader? I know that with new Huawei accounts, the account needs to be active for 14 days before you can get a bootloader unlock code.

The IMEI and Serial numbers can be found on the box, and if your friend no longer has his box, there is a way to the info via fastboot, but unfortunately I do not have the correct commands to do so. I'd suggest checking on the XDA forums for more help regarding this.
