I just thought I will let you guys know I had absolutely no problems with installing any google software I wanted (including google's Gmail and it actually came with Maps already preinstalled) on that phone. And everything works just fine.
The only issue I have is that whatsapp messages seem to be only delivered the moment I switch the phone on... not sure if some settings are not right... Anyone else experienced something similar?

Install MicroG - should help with notifications.

How did you achieve this?

Very nice device - best phone camera available ...

I'm almost due for an upgrade and have the p30 pro, is it a mission to set your phone up with Google services?

I am on the fence about going Samsung or getting the p50 and don't want hours of hassle/continuous manual setup getting Google to work correctly.

Hi,
You need to install Gspace (google it) and then within Gspace all the Google software you want like Gmail, maps, youtube... I had really no issue to install all the other apps I had previously on Samsung Note (and I had really many apps).

If you are looking at the latest S22, take note there is no micro sd slot so you cannot expand your memory. My p50 pro came with dual purpose tray to either put 2nd sim card or huawei proprietary memory card. That card has the same shape/size as nano sim card and if you run out of storage on your phone, you can expand the storage, available from Amazon.
