Well, Well, Well so we as community members had the fantastic opportunity to be at the Huawei P50 Series Launch and it was an awesome evening in Pretoria.....

The venue was SUN Arena and the event was dubbed Legend Reborn and my oh my, the event was premium from the presentations, experience zone and the socialising there after it was all top class. We had the opportunity to network and interact with many with top tech people and I noticed quite a number of mobile operators also brought along their frontline staff to the event.

As usual the Huawei CTO Mr Akram Mohammed led the way with a eloquent presentation together with the new rising star from Huawei Mr Jiyane (Huawei Product Manager) taking us through the spec sheets with so much grace and humor. We witnessed the unveiling of the Huawei P50 pro and the Huawei P50 pocket premium edition in a spectacular fashion that left the audience on awe of the great show. The event was also used to launch another mid range device a Huawei Nova 9SE as there seems to be no lite version of the P50 series.

The price of the Huawei P50 pro will be R19999, The Huawei P50 pocket premium will be R28999 and the Huawei Nova 9SE R7999. I was a bit surprised as I thought on paper the spec sheet for the Huawei P50 pro was better than the Huawei P50 pocket but later realised the version Huawei is launching in South Africa is the premium version. With that being said these new devices should be in store from the 1st of April 2022 on the Huawei Store most likely with some special freebies for those who will pre order and network providers.

Looking forward to a hands on experience with the Huawei P50 Series and as soon as I get my hands on either variant I will do an in depth review of the features, hardware and the user experience. One thing worth noting I did not hear a mention of the Harmony OS coming preloaded on board the latest Huawei Flagship and I presume it will be Android running on EMUI 12.

Overall Huawei South Africa went all out for this launch event and they delivered a good event worthy of a premium flagship announcemt. Kudos Huawei South Africa IMG_20220318_072126.jpgIMG_20220317_210019.jpgIMG_20220317_210228.jpgIMG-20220318-WA0051.jpgIMG_20220317_215850.jpgIMG_20220317_215005.jpgIMG_20220317_232713.jpgIMG_20220317_192755.jpgIMG_20220317_190923.jpg

Likely freebies? - headphones and watches?

Yes...
Chinese telecommunications firm Huawei on Friday reported revenue of 455.8 billion yuan ($71.19 billion) in the first three quarters of 2021, a "vertiginous drop" as its consumer business still suffered severely amid the US chip ban.

Revenues fell 32 percent, a significant slide from the same period last year, when the firm earned 671.3 billion yuan, up 9.9 percent year-on-year.

It announced a net profit margin of 10.2 percent.
