Hello everyone.

I recently got a Huawei P8 lite (ALE-L02) with a new Telkom FreeMe 1Gb contract. They gave me a nano SIM and everything seemed to work fine. I then inserted a SD card and moved my nano SIM to the bottom SIM slot with the help of a converter.

Now, "Mobile Data" does not want to work, although it is turned on. I placed my SIM in my old Samsung S3, and the mobile data worked. I placed a different micro SIM card in the P8, and the mobile data also did not work (tried one from MTN and another Telkom one). I then took my SIM out of the converter, and placed it back in the upper SIM slot, and mobile data is now working. I Googled a bit, and found "TelkomInternet_APN_Device_Settings_guide.pdf" on the Telkom site. I added a new APN named TelkomInternet as Name and APN. Now, mobile data is working with a micro SIM, but the phone keeps on popping up the message: "No APN specified on the device." Also, the battery starts to drain so fast that with the phone connected to a power bank drawing about 450mAh, it does not charge further, but at least does not discharge either. Strangely, with the micro SIM, I can still make and receive calls, and send messages (SMSe)

The thing is, I want to use a SD card, thus I must use the bottom SIM slot. Any ideas?

Go into settings, dual card management. Make sure your 3g slot is set to slot one

I had the same phone before passing it on to my wife ...

There's an option for you (depending on model, bought mine at Takealot) to swap the 4G/LTE sim & 2G slots in your sim card management section (Settings). Doing that might sort you out.

Under "Dual card management", Card1 (2G/3G/4G) shows TelkomSA and is selected for 4g/3G slot, Default mobile data and Default calls/messages, but still no connection:confused:
