So i got myself a R201 but im a bit disappointed by the wifi, i get unstable connections when using it, almost as if the 3g/hsdpa does that thing where its connected but no traffic moves, yet when i use the usb cable it goes perfectly.

has anyone else got one of these? how is the performance on yours?

what range have you used it at, im starting to think my Pc's wifi might be the problem since its inside my chassis.

Mine was also horrible ...

BUT I think iPad wifi is also pretty bad - so I battled from the next room

I have been using the Vodafone R201 device for about 11 months now & its really a great device. I might have lost connectivity (temporarily) about 2 or 3 times in the entire 11 months of use. I am really impressed with it & have since recommended it to everyone who asks for something like it.

Devices like the Huawai E585 lose connectivity a lot & they frustrate guys in my office on a daily basis. As for the range, its really great I think. I mean at the office I walk about 4,5 m north to get to the door & then a further 28 m south before my last bar dissapears but even then its still usable.

* Yes, I did just pace out those metres :D *

Okay so it turns out my wireless is to blame yanked out the laptop and phone and the wifi is fine. looks like the 1TR1 wireless i have hooked up on the inside of my rig is junk,it was free so hey at least the Bluetooth is okay.

updated the firmware on the R201 as well, running great.

I supplied my sister with the R201 Mofaya 2Gig deal and she is really happy with it. She keeps it in her room on the second floor where there 3G and then when she sits down stairs with her laptop she has got full Wi Fi signal still. I have noticed though that with phones wifi, the signal is not that strong...but I suppose that is normal as wifi in phones got smaller antennas and lower power? Just guessing.

I recommended the R201 for a client of mine and he is loving it. He now uses it as a mobile internet cafe and actually making a few bucks from it :D :D LOL

I am still to try gaming on it, using just the wifi and not online gaming. My frend and i have fifa 2011 installed on our laptops, should try it soon.
