Huawei Smart Charge

I know what the Huawei Smart Charge option does under the battery settings, but honestly I cannot see this in real life happening. Like most people I charge my phone over night. But after a while I can see that it is already 100% fully charged. I was under the impression that it will maybe sit at 90% and pause or something. What is your experience on this?

That was only the case yonks ago. New batteries you can't overcharge.
