Huawei stops working on Windows laptops - Report

That's a great loss - those matebooks are things of beauty

So will we get them with Linux preinstalled now? :D

Just ship the laptops with Linux pre-installed (eg Deepin Linux) - will reduced the cost of the laptop.
Allow end user to downgrade Linux to Windows (configurable secure boot)
Most enterprises already have KMS/MAC licenses as they re-image the laptop anyway.
For home users, you can get a cheap+legal Win10Pro license from www.kinguin.net or similar.

This sucks because after my current Matebook X, I would've loved to get another Matebook.

The winning scenario would be to be able to buy the laptop cheaper without Windows (and also without any crappy Linux either) and allow people to install their own copies of Windows.

Linux is free, so there are no extra costs involved.
Once you get your machine, you can do with it as you please -the main thing, though, is that you get a working machine (as opposed to no OS) without the "windows fee".

Side Note: If you don't like Crappy Linux, you should try MX-Linux or even some of the Mint varieties, they're really good ;) :p

Nah, I’ll stick to Windows where all my software works, thanks ;)

It's really a pity
We need a rival to compete with Apple to mass produce good quality aesthetically pleasing lapops for the Windows ecosystem. Most Windows machines sold here are cheap crap quality.

Microsoft Surfacebooks are nice but soo expensive and you will have to import them to buy them.

It's catch 22. Windows default drivers and Windows update will stop supporting new Huawei hardware so when you install Windows you will have to install the various Huawei components drivers yourself. You would have to get drivers from Huawei but since they are not allowed access to Windows if Huawei has it on their website it will be like they they are circumventing the ban.
