Huawei unveils its new Kirin 980 mobile processor

Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu unveiled the company's new Kirin 980 system-on-a-chip (SoC) at IFA 2018 in Berlin, Germany.

The chipset is the world's first commercial SoC manufactured with TSMC's 7nm process and will be used in Huawei's next-generation smartphones.

Huawei is really kicking it. I'm impressed. I'm fast running out of excuses not to pick up a Huawei phone the next time I'm in the market for one... Unless they're caught with their hands in the cookie jar doing something sketchy with our data and info but all manufacturers are guilty of doing those sorts of things.
