Today I got my hands on the latest evolution of Huawei's watch, the GT2 Pro.
Going to post some first impressions of it now, including some of the new features (and flaws), but over the next week or two I will also give longer term impressions, such as battery life (which by now we expect to be outstanding), activity tracking etc.
Side by side with the GT2

The 2 Pro looks cleaner, without the more busy bezel of the GT2. It comes with a leather band which looks a bit more premium than the rubber band that came with the 2. Size and weight feels very similar.

The display is still very crisp and clear. I have not had it out in the sun yet, because I picked it up in the middle of a waterfall (at least, it felt that way). It automatically adjusts brightness according to ambient light, and has the familiar raise to wake function.
It also has an optional always-on display with various faces available too.

The back of the watch features the usual heart rate sensor, as well as a blood oxygen saturation sensor - but notably, there are no charging contacts.

Confirmed by the charging pad provided in the pack...

Yup, finally, the Watch features Qi wireless charging! Getting a boost from the reverse wireless charging feature of my P30 Pro...
The watch paired quickly with the Huawei Health app on my phone, and immediately installed a firmware update. Something new I noticed though:

Yup, you can install apps on the watch now! Selection is limited at the moment, but I am sure that there will be more coming.
On the downside, it seems that custom faces are now a premium feature

I haven't spent enough time with the watch yet to know whether there's a face that works well for me and my aging eyes... But again, time will tell and I will update this thread.
Activity tracking - this watch now has a LOT of activities you can track (Over 100 workout modes). Initially it just seems that many of them are just different names for a very basic heart rate and time recording session... such as:

Swinging? Oh boy
There are some interesting ones too - a driving range mode which claims to record your swing, club speed etc. Anyone got some golf bats for me to try it out with?!

There are also running trainers etc.
First impressions - I like this new watch. I think it looks better than the GT2, and the wireless charging is great for when the battery does eventually run down if you're not near your charger. I plan to do some GPS activity tracking this weekend - sailing, which is included in the list of activities but doesn't seem to be GPS tracked, so I'll be recording it as snowboarding
This is heavier on the battery than normal operation but it should still be good for something like 30 hours of tracking on one charge.
The speaker is loud and clear. The watch can also pair with bluetooth headphones (hence the release along with the FreeBuds 3) so you can have your music along without your phone on your runs.
The sapphire crystal and titanium bodyshell means it should also be very durable.
