Where can I pick up one new? For my niece.
Pricecheck and guzzle have no leads.
Cash not contract please.

The Y300's been discontinued : https://twitter.com/huaweiza/status/492237012775485441
I asked at a retailer the other day, as I wanted a spare battery for my Y300 I bought in Feb 2014 (if I could get the phone cheap), and the salesman confirmed the model's discontinuation.

Think the Y330 took its place, with some inferior specs (primary camera, for eg.).

You guys would literally need to visit every shop that sells smartphones for cash, and ask if they by chance have any stock on hand. If you do happen to come across one, I strongly advise you update the ROM it comes with, to this one :

Y300 firmware(Y300-0100,Android 4.1,Emotion UI,V100R001C479B197,United Kingdom Channel)
Description
This version solve following issue: Security Advisory-OpenSSL Heartbeat Extension vulnerability (Heartbleed bug)
Date: 5 June 2014
Version: V100R001C479B197
File Size: 569.39 MB

I did so a few weeks ago, after the Custom Lollipop ROM I downloaded from Modaco bricked my phone.

Had to use this Stock ROM to force an update, and it's been fine since, except for the fact that I lost 3G (but that happened between the move from KitKat 4.4.4 to 5.0), so the newer Stock ROM above, wasn't the cause of it .. I doubt :wtf:

Far as I remember, the "HUAWEI Y300-0100 V100R001C479B197 Software Upgrade Guideline" PDF is included within the download, so if you get hold of a Y300, follow the instructions, and it should load first time, like it did for me.

Pleasure !

I guess it's 'over & out' then, for this thread :D

Edcon shops and Pep Cell keep these phones and many many more in this price category.
