Huawei has once again decided to shake things up in the Entry level smartphone field with the arrival of the Huawei Y6p on the 6th of May 2020 running on Huawei Mobile Services instead of the traditional Google Mobile Services. The Huawei Y6p is coming in three colors black, green and purple and it looks very nice and attractive to the eyes.
Out of the box the phone comes with a USB charger and the charging brick, a pair of earphones and a Sim card remover. I am just unhappy because it doesn't come with the traditional back cover to protect the back of the phone but it still comes with a screen protector pre-installed. The IPS Lcd has a 720 x 1600 pixel screen that I find to be a good display for an entry level smart phone. The Y6p runs on Android 10 and EMUI 10.1 with the Operating system being the Huawei Mobile Service. The Y6p has a 3GB ram that makes running of applications smooth while the 64GB memory gives lots of space for apps and pictures.
Talking about pictures the Y9P has a triple rear camera with the main camera being the 13mp, 5mp for extra wide shots and the 2mp for depth. The selfie Camera is a 8mp, HDR enables that give you an ohk quality when it comes to selfies.
Out of the box I charged the phone at the end of the 2nd day of use and for now the 5000Amh battery seems to be living up to its 1 charge per 3 days hype. I used the Huawei App Gallery to download my apps, the apps I couldn't get on Huawei App Gallery I got them from Findorra and Aptiode thanks to the open source on the HMS system. I also used phone clone to move my information from my old Huawei devices to the Huawei Y6p. I have my Gmail emails running on my device and also my other email accounts are running without any hiccup. When it come to everyday us I can confirm without hesitation 90% of my apps are running smoothly. Google based apps like the Google drive, Google photos and YouTube are unavailable but there are alternatives one can download.
Overally I am impressed with the pricing of the phone against the features that the phone offers, the 5000Amh battery, the camera is good, the 3GB ram is also big for a entry level smartphone, the 64GB storage is also great. I just miss the covers that used to come with Huawei devices hope they will bring them back with future devices and my fingers are crossed when it comes to a bigger free cloud storage. For me the positives are too many and they overshadow the small negatives.
I am liking my Huawei Y6p running on Huawei Mobile Services OS.....
Price R3 299 on Huawei Store with complimentary bluetooth headphones and Bluetooth Speaker.

I love how they keep throwing these huge batteries in these low end phones, it’s really upping the battery life game of the overall industry.
