I recently got myself an Mate 7 2nd hand. I am experiencing some strange network issues:

I need someone's help that has an Huaweii Mate 7 dual sim phone. I want to do a test. I recently got myself a 2nd hand one and when I use MTN or Vodacom for voice and data that sim stops working and says "Emergency Calls Only". Telkom and Cellc is working 100%. I just want someone with one to test an MTN sim card, if it works, I want to look at the hardware differences, maybe some difference in the chipsets. I have been to 4 different cellphone shops and no one can assist me in figuring out the problem.

Dont matter which way around

Mine is like this:

Works:
Sim1: Vodacom / MTN - Voice Only
Sim2: Cellc / Telkom - Data & Voice

Dont Work:
Sim1: Vodacom / MTN - Data & Voice - "Emergency Calls Only"
Sim2: Cellc / Telkom - Voice Only

Somewhere Someone should have an Explanation or a fix at least.

Anyone on this forum has an suggestion on a fix or know where I can go in the Western Cape Area, Im in Somerset-West.

Hi

I had a similar if not the same problem and no one could work it out. Eventually they replaced it as an obf. Did you get a proof of purchase. Have you tried switching around sim 1 and 2?

Unfortunately I bought it 2nd hand and I cannot get hold of the seller, think he probably knew about the issue. tested the phone with an Celc sim upon buying it, only figured this out after some extensive testing. If all else fails and it is too expensive to fix Ill sell it as is and see what I can get for it, then just add some more money and test better this time, have sims of all the networks now. I will take it to vodacom service center in somerset west and see what they can figure out, apparently they can test it somehow.

In Canal Walk but they are Smartlab and didn't make a good first impression on me. Maybe you have better luck

They closed down last time I saw, wanted to take in my SG7 Edge there but was told they closed down. They a bit off my path anyway. Im going to the Vodacom Service centre in Somerset-West tomorrow to see if they can do a diagnostic.
