A friend with Hulu just had his card expire. Collected the new card, entered details... And rejected.

Sent a mail to them and they said it needed to be US card. Hulu cracking down?

Anyone else experienced recently?

Card ??? Master/visa or what card

He seriously emailed Hulu to ask about his South African credit card? Is your friend mildly retarded?

All the major streaming companies have taken steps against services that bypass regional restrictions. You need to be creative when it comes to paying for access, usually with false addresses, external payment providers etc.

I haven't asked the details about the address etc - but it has been working since registration last year. Just when his card expired and he entered the new details, it rejected it.

I'm guessing addresses were faked if it worked the first time

A bit nasty.

The assumption was it worked / accepted the first time with an SA card, there must be some other issue with the second.

Hulu have been doing this for ages now. They have always been the most strict. You have to use an entropay account.

If you had a local card that worked you were lucky.

I subscribed about 2 months ago with FNB card and it went through first time. No issues.

lol @ complaining about a service that you are not supposed to be using :D

Had a colleague saying the same thing when he tried to subscribe earlier this week.
I subbed about a year ago with my FNB card and had no hassles.

Spotify also full of carp like that:mad:

I don't understand why any South African would use Spotify. We have Simfy, Deezer, Apple Music and Google Play Music. Is there something magical about Spotify that I'm not aware of?

Another option is to buy a prepaid Hulu subscription card from eBay. I bought a years worth for R330.
