Chaps,

A quick one: is anyone experiencing issues with Hulu+ with most series which buffer and pause alot?
I am having this issue which is strange as I am running a capped 10mbps line!
I don't get this issue on Netflix however. The wife found a 'workaround' by pausing and un-pausing the play but this isn't a feasible option. This happens at least 10-15 times an episode.
I also have this issue while streaming sport using Wiziwig and the likes, which I think is normal due to the number of people on the free servers.
I have checked my line and i get 10mb to the router and dl speeds at around 8mbps...
I'm not sure if I should start flinging ***** at my ISP for possible bandwidth shaping or if there is an issue on Hulu's side.
Any ideas?

It's a line issue if Netflix plays fine.

Two things you could try.

1. Lower the quality in your Hulu settings.
2. Try another ISP. Many offer free accounts now.
 
i'm also having these issues... for about 2 weeks now... sometimes it plays flawlessly and sometimes it buffers continuously... i tried different isp accounts and also lowered the quality, but still having same issues...

wife is not impressed, it used to work perfectly before and just doesnt recently...

Which ISPs have you tried?

Do yourself a favour and grab a free Web Africa account.
 
I had the same problem for 2 days this week (Tuesday & Wednesday) on my Axxess 10mbit line, but other than that it's been smooth sailing for the last 12 months.

The weird thing was that when I checked my router's traffic monitor the stream was running at under 200KB/s where it usually runs a about 350KB/s. The rest of my line was pretty much unusued

I ran a speedtest on a local server and I peaked at 8mbit but when I ran it on a US server it peaked at about 3mbit.

So my guess is that it all depends on the international transit speed your ISP is able to achieve. An ISP change may be the best solution
 
I had a similar issue where it would buffer but as soon as you paused and pushed play it streamed, the stream even shows that it's fully buffered so no stop start should occur.
I did find however that once I started using Vox fat pipe and even Afrihost after IPC issue fixed, the line doesn't do it anymore.
