I test try the servers for best speed. I watch it on computer but sometime I use PureVPN's VPN hotspot feature to create a virtual WiFi hotspot via my laptop. I'm thinking of setting it up on my router now.

Then you will slow down all your internet traffic. Vpn is not the way to go .

Yeah me too . looks to me that services like Pluto.tv who offer free good content with ad support is the way of the future as Viacom just bought them out for $375million dollars. I’m sure Hulu are going to make their money back by making more ad slots available . Good thing is they have an ad free subs option.
 
Curious, has anyone ever tested a number of DNS services with Hulu etc.
Been using smartdnsproxy for near on 2yrs because it was just recommended and they have been around for ages.

Trialled HideIpVpn Smartdns service and it actually seemed to stream Hulu and other channels quicker.
Trial ended on Sat so went back to smartdns and I could notice the lag.

Edit: Asked for an extension so they gave me 3 days, will test again.

HideIpVPN seems to be expensive, which is why I have stuck to Getflix or Smartdnsproxy. Once the video starts playing I don't notice the lag.
 
Tested it again last night with HideIP DNS and the streams for both Hulu and ATV4 Discovery, Velocity,Food, History etc the start of the stream is definitely better and faster.
Tried 2nd Smartdnsproxy recommended DNS server for SA and it wasn't great, went back to preferred dns server for SA and it was better.

Don't understand the noticeable differences.

Which DNS were you using for SmartDNS? I use 23.21.43.50 and 54.229.171.243

Hi,

I’m thinking of signing up for Hulu, but they only accept U.S credit cards.
Has anyone signed up for the first time with a Hulu gift card? Someone told be they they require a credit card for first time use or a PayPal account.

I also tried creating a U.S PayPal account as per the thread, however the transaction still declines.
