Hulu

The website hulu.com which used to read. Not available in your area. Now enables you to sign up for a trial.

But their app still isn't available on either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

So anyone try and signup yet or does it just not accept SA credit card?

Besides Hulu...... what would you say the recommendation would be between " Netflix" or " Showmax" ?? Which is better, better quality/Titles/content??

I haven't tried Shomax yet, but I've looked at their programming and I prefer Netflix's content.

Also Netflix streams at full HD with Dolby 5.1 surround sound on my 10meg line. Quality is awesome

I believe that Netflix and Showmax give you a trial month , on a 4 meg line would i get the same experience you getting? I suppose there are factors involved, like what sound bar you have or other external sound, the TV etc etc

Buy a voucher and redeem it like most of us do. The vouchers do work out more expensive though.
I think you're missing the point. ;)

HINT: Start at post #1 and work your way down. :)

Roku app still says not available outside US. I was about reactivate it if it was available.

Checked their website apple tv 4th gen is supported maybe someone with one can tell us if it works.

The question is : Is Netfix SA worth it ? I hear that they don't have all the content as in the states, how true is this? I believe that there are also price options, like HD content you need to pay a higher price?

Btw my fnb card used to work just fine with unotelly.

There are a ton of threads on this... this is a Hulu thread after all ;)

I only noticed recently noticed the English 5.1 option in the language menu. I'm almost certain it wasn't there when I was on 4meg. I don't have an audio receiver so its useless to me at the moment. What's annoying though is whenever something starts it starts of by default with 5.1, which then means no sound is coming though the TV speakers, so you need to manually disable the option.

edit, didn't even check the title of the thread, just responded :p

Tried to signup . Doesn't accept South African credit card or My SA paypal account . I signed up with my US Cc and allowed me to sign up but when you try play a show it says only available to the US region.

DStv has the local rights to most of the shows on Hulu, so there is no way it would be available in SA.
If it ever did, it would be a different line-up like Netflix USA vs Netflix SA.
