Hunter and Pet advice

Hi Guys

I have a lvl 52 with a Cat as a pet. My Hunter have been specializing heavily in Marksmanship talents. My problem is that my pet is unable to pull enough aggro anymore.

Do anybody have suggestions as to what is a nice pet to use as a tank? I am also thinking of re-specing more into the Beast Mastery tree to help my pet pull more aggro. Any ideas what talents would be more useful in this regard? Keep in mind I would still like my Hunter's DPS to be as high as possile.

For leveling, and leveling quickly ... BM spec with talents in the early MM tree to aid your burst damage. Get a gorilla or any pet with AOE tanking abilities... keep growl on, and ensure your cower is off. By default your cower will be on.
Ensure there is a slowing trap between you and the mobs you are going to be pulling / attacking and last but not least, learn to master kiting.

Granted the video is old, the mechanics stay the same. Makes solo'ing group quests easy.
Also note, they changed some World bosses / dragons to evade when being kited to large cities etc. Thanks to the famous Lord Kazzak --> stormwind city kite session...
 
Ah thanks for the link, this is what I am trying to achieve, at the moment as soon as I use my ranged attacks the mob just attacks me. I think I will go get a Gorilla in Un'Goro Crater tonight

that's quite an impressive kite. Most I've seen was ol' Fel Reaver prancing about in Shattrath. Complete ghost city that place is now. :/
 
Spec BM and get a Rhino. Rhino's can AOE tank. Levelling becomes automode.
 
Rather get a bear or croc as your levelling tanking pet instead of a gorilla.

The reason people say gorilla is due to its former glory as the best pet AoE tank when it used to be the only pet with Thunderstomp. All tenacity pets have access to Thunderstomp now (via talent) and Pummel (gorillas' new ability) is less than stellar for tanking. Bears have Swipe and crocs have Bad Attitude both of which are very good AoE threat generating abilities on top of Thunderstomp.
 
Ok, so I got a Gorilla last night and man, what a difference. Now I just need to get to lvl 60 so I can go in search of the Rhino...
 
The pummel is awsome once you start attacking casters... just ensure you have your pets cower off though.
