Hybrid vehicle thread

You can't be wanting to sell the Haval then. So what's the reason for shopping for the RAV?
Long story. Short version is we have the H6C and an old H6 1.5 city or whatever it was called (the rebranded GWM). We're somewhat in the market for a replacement for the H6 1.5 to be the larger family car. Whatever we get will surely be hybrid or plug in hybrid or (in our dreams) full electric (if the prices ever come down)

Do we actually get an plug-in hybrids in SA? I'd like to consider one but haven't seen any.

Nevermind, a quick Google search led me to BMW and Merc. So the answer is yes, but not within my budget.

I'm very much in the same boat. Some options. Some all electric options also. All too pricey right now...

I initially wanted a Prius (don't judge) but not for R480k.
The Prius is actually a really nice car, provided you ignore the price. But given that a Honda Fit is pushing R400k it doesn't look as bad.

EDIT: Just had a look and I see the Prius is now listed as R580k new. I'm so out of touch with how everything has increased.

Provided you ignore the price and how hideous it is.

I didn't know you could still buy the Prius new. Surely it's been supplanted by the new batch of hybrids? Like the Corolla and Cross?

I think there's still space for it in the market. It's a hybrid body shape too, merging hatchback and sedan. That being said, it's not much bigger than a Corolla hatch for a lot more money so I can't imagine they sell many.

Ya. I do quite like the look of the new one. But as you say, the Prius starts at just below 600k. That's still an awful lot of money...

I somewhat like the hideousness. It's form following function. My biggest gripe is the center mounted instrument ccluster.
I've heard it's shaped like that so it has the least aerodynamic drag coefficient of any production car.
