Watched the Ignition TV review now. Other bloke not Marius reviewing it. In his view its too pricey & brings nothing major to the segment. It carries itself with older characteristics.
Surprised this 2017 car has a centre lap-belt; not a 3-point jobbie.
I think its a worthy segment addition if you can handle the fairly bland styling & hard plastics. Standard kit is good + warranty is good + name carries itself well in SA.

I hear what you saying but positioning wise that does not makes sense:
Bigger Tuscon competes with CX-5 on size & price.
Smaller Creta competes with CX-3 on size & price.
If we add Toy to the mix:
Bigger Tuscon competes with RAV4 on size & price.
Smaller Creta competes (roughly) with C-HR on size & price.

THIS IS WHAT HYUNDAI HAS CALLED ITS NEW SMALL SUV…
Hyundai has released a teaser image of its upcoming subcompact SUV, while also revealing the newcomer’s name.
The new model will be badged as the Hyundai Kona, named after the Kona district of Hawaii. The Korean automaker says the island’s “energetic image and unique lifestyle matches the all-new Hyundai Kona’s dynamic character”.
The Kona will join the Santa Fe and Tucson in Hyundai’s SUV line-up, competing with the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Mazda CX-3 and Toyota C-HR. What about the Creta, which arrived in South Africa earlier this year? Well, the Creta – which is also known in some markets as the ix25 – is not offered in Europe, instead finding itself limited to so-called emerging markets, such as ours.
That leads us to speculate that the new Kona will not be offered locally – at first, at least – with the Creta filling that gap in Hyundai’s SA range (although we’re still awaiting official word).
The automaker has revealed little else about the new model (which is expected to share its underpinnings with a Kia of a similar size), describing it only as a “unique subcompact SUV” bearing “true SUV genes” and “premium features”.
More information, naturally, will be revealed in due course, with a possible reveal at the New York motor show.
