So i got myself a 1.4l Hyundai Getz HS and there are a few things bugging me.

First off is there anyway at all to get the car to make any noise at all when i lock it? Something similar to the Polo. I just would prefer a noise over having to look at the indicators flashing.

Secondly when on the freeway the car struggles to get past 150Km/h. It will get to 150 very easily but then it just stops and wont go past 4k rpm. Any ideas what the cause would be? Is it possible that it had its speed limited by the previous owner? I find it hard to believe that a less powerful polo can get to 170km/h on the same stretch of road.

Thirdly it struggled to start on friday evening(the day i got the car). Could it be the battery or the spark plugs? Or do i just not know what i am talking about? It started fine at the dealership and fine when i left work, but when i was leaving to go to my girl friends place it just wouldn't turn over :-/. And so far its been alright (it does not start instantly but in maybe a second or 2 it starts.)

And lastly it has small chips on the bonnet from stones and i was wondering what would happen if rust starts showing, would it be covered by the corrosion warranty?
Can i get it fixed before the rust sets in?

I don't see why this is a problem.. The limit is only 120km/h. But maybe find out if there is some sort of limiter installed. Getting to 4k rpm and then stopping sounds a bit weird.

Wife has the 1.4 and doubt u will get past 150 unless going downhill.

Central loacking we had made quite a lound noise.

Seriously? You shouldn't be doing 150 KM/h on the roads. That is just reckless.

Well I am with the trolls on this one. Coming on here and asking to go faster than 150 is worse than asking for good torrent sites. Torrent sites never killed anyone, morons speeding do.

Sorry i forgot to mention when i am driving it fast i am doing it on a closed track . I would never go over 120 on a public road.

So no other help on the non troll bait questions?

Seems strange that you bought a 1.4 if you were keen on reaching those speeds... My fiesta is also a 1.4, but being a small engine small bodied car, I dare not take it over much more than the speeding limit...

Thank you so much. Your input is valuable to me.

And yes i do. Why? I am guessing you don't?

Let me change the question then.

Is it possible to have a limiter on a second hand Hyundai Getz 1.4l?

Ok then, it sounds like the car is governed or simply doesn't have the power to go faster.

From wiki:

1.4L DOHC engine 95 hp (71 kW) 0–100 km/h: 10.6 sec., top speed 176 km/h (109 mph)
1.4L DOHC engine 107 hp (80 kW) 0–100 km/h: 9.6 sec., top speed 186 km/h (116 mph) - 2006 model onwards

So unless you bought an electric version :D I think it is being limited somehow.

Um no, never really had the desire to take a Getz around a track.

If it was a WRX / M3 / M5 / Porsche then maybe.
